Improvement 02: Develop opportunities for shared family learning clubs at existing local facilities

The Westgate Hill Primary School holds regular Parents Coffee Mornings. The improvement proposed by parents who attend is the development of family learning clubs, an opportunity for shared family learning using existing local facilities.

This would give families a chance to learn together, where everyone feels valued and older family members are able to engage with the younger ones. The aim would be for every member of the family to go home afterwards feeling they have learnt something.

Activities would be available at suitable times in local, child-friendly venues and the flexible informal learning offered could lead on to more formal learning and employment opportunities.
