Improvement 06: Create informal health information sessions
The BME Women’s Group from the West End Women and Girls Centre meets there twice a week for cooking and sewing sessions. They enjoy socialising with each other and forming friendships.

The group identified a need for informal health information sessions across the city on topics such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, women’s health and children’s common illnesses. Run by skilled health professionals, this would take place at appropriate times and accessible venues, supported by interpreters and crèches to meet the specific needs of groups.
The women created silk paintings to show their ideas.
