Improvement 27: A Festival for All Ages

Children in Year 6 at West Jesmond Primary School have been discussing ideas about how to improve relationships between the generations with a group of retired people.

They all agreed that more opportunities that bring generations together in Newcastle should be encouraged and decided that one way to do this was to organise a ‘Festival for All Ages’ at Exhibition Park.

The group felt that as well as working together to plan and set up the event, the festival would be an opportunity to listen to live music, dance, enjoy entertainment together, share food, try out new activities, discuss issues and create more links between schools and older people.

The group have presented their ideas in an animation film.
